Today is our school 10th Annual cross country meet. This year, it was being held at Bedok Reservior instead of the usual Macritche Reservior because the latter was under construction. I went there via Jia ping 's father car, together with ying xuan. The whole journey took around 20-25 minutes. When we saw the reservior, we were happy because the reservior was unlike Macritche. The jogging route was rather sommoth and straight, not like Macritche which was going up and down, with stones on the ground.
When we arrived there, had a short walk around the gathering area. Then Tian Yi came. He told us he was in a rush and forget to bring his number tag. He was not the only one, some others had forgotten too.
Lower Secondary Girls ran first, followed by Lower Secondary Boys. The Upper Secondary had to wait. Meanwhile jia ping and I, swopped with BEverly and Jia wen. The two of them became running as a team and as a indivual; while jia ping and I ran as indivual. Soon it was own turn. Thought they were going to get us to do warm up. But they didn't. Instead we walk a distance before reaching the starting point. Jia ping said she 's running with tian tian and the rest, I thought of doing so. But straight when the whistle sounded, I was running with them; however, I can't. Soon they were far in front. So I ran alone. Thought of giving up on the way and walk. But I forced myself to continue running, although I did stop twice for a few seconds. While running, I felt as if my whole body was burning. My shoes feel heavy and I felt like I was going to faint anytime. I wanted Water ! but I didn't bought alone mine.
Towards the finishing line, I ran as fast as I could only because all the teachers stadning there said' There's someone behind you. Hurry'. So I did.
How glad I am to have finish the race. First time running for cross crountry as a competitor. My number tag fell when I received. Thank God, Jia wen helped me to pass it to Brandon for the recording. Wanted to sit down, but ying xuan wouldn't let me.Then I found out I was in the 14th position. That's good enough for me. Beverly was 1st, Tian Tian was 3rd or 4th ( can't remember ) , Hui Huiwas 5th, Ying xuan was 6th and Kasturi was 10th. As for the boys in our class, only two came in the top 10. VIncent was 3rd and Daryl was 8th. Our class won Team award for one of the boys team. The girls won two team awards, although we didn't know how it ended up as two team; for we thought we only had one team. Anyway everyone 's got a medal and that 's makes the days special for us. LAst year in participating in the cross country. WHo knows, maybe I will try up for Sports day ( MAYBE =)
